The Money $tory is a management information tool designed to assist community organisations in their decision making process. It translates complicated financial reports into a form that is clear and easy to understand.- and overcomes the barriers of language, numeracy and literacy. Originally developed in the field on the Pitjantjatjara Lands in Central Australia in 1987, the Money story is a way of managing and communicating financial information within any organisation gives an overview of the financial status of the organisation at a glance. The Money $tory is a tool for communicating financial information to councils, boards, directors and staff who do not have an accounting background. It is an information key to both empowerment and accountability. It makes it much easier to pass on financial information to other members of an organisation so all can participate in the decision making process. It enhances the ability of other staff to monitor and report on the financial status of their areas of operation

Biography

Chris is a Director of Pangaea Pty Ltd. He has extensive field experience in Primary Health Care working in Central Australia and West Africa since 1982. In 1994 With Hugh Lovesy - the creator of the Money Story, he co-founded Pangaea to address the problems and frustration's aboriginal community controlled organisations (including health) had in accessing and understanding their finances in the standard method of reporting.
