Aims and Objectives
The aim of the Vicnet West project is to support and foster the Central Highlands/Wimmera region's uptake and use of Information Technology, the Internet and related activities.
Vicnet West provide Training, Technical Support and Content Development to individuals, agencies, community groups, schools, business and Local Government. Mobile Training Unit:
Our mobile trainer Carol Hilldon provides Internet training and other computer related training across the Central Highlands and Wimmera region. Carol will travel around the Central Highlands Wimmera discovering the computer training needs of the greater community.
Our training is conducted in a non-threatening learning environment that is "jargon" free and friendly. This way people build their confidence so that they want to learn at their own pace.
Technical Support:
Our Technical Support Technician Phil Kinane is mobile too, and he can bring his technical support service right to your doorstep. Recycling Computers:
Vicnet West has a computer recycling/sales and service under the control of Ashley Pinder. This part of Vicnet West will enable people to purchase recycled computers at an affordable price. We stock anything from 486's through to late release Pentiums.
Ashley & Phil will also do upgrades and repairs with a 3 month warranty. With the support of the University of Ballarat and funding from Networking the Nation Vicnet West is excited with the prospect of developing a wider awareness of technology in the region.
